so close I can almost taste it

Are we done yet? The house is a mess. There are boxes everywhere. Yet it doesn’t seem like we’re nearly packed. The pictures are, for the most part, off the walls and packed away. Lots of clothes are packed. But I haven’t dealt with lampshades and the movers are taking care of most of the kitchen. Tomorrow I need to pull out the suitcase for clothing for the actual road trip. Maybe that will help make this all the more real. Wait, it is real, that’s the wrong word. Maybe it will make me feel like we are further along.

I cannot wait for Sunday afternoon. The house will be packed and loaded onto a truck. We will be staying at a nice hotel on the Plaza with an outdoor swimming pool for the munchkin and ready access to restaurants and shops to keep us busy. Maybe I can have a night where I don’t feel stressed. Maybe my anxiety levels will come down and my body will relax. As sick as this is, I’m looking forward to the roadtrip part of it. I’m just so ready to be out of this house. I’m done with trying to keep the munchkin from getting upset over the move – although switching her books from one basket to another today was apparently a mistake and we quickly switched back.

Once we get to NC I am using my wonderful birthday gift and going for a day at the spa. I deserve it!
