why small towns are nice

We’re living in an area much smaller than I’ve ever lived in before – population somewhere around 60,000 for all of the little cities that make up the area. But the wonderful thing is that here we are the weekend before Halloween and we have events every day. Today we stumbled upon a fall festival hosted by one of the local elementary schools when we were just planning on going to the park. Apparently I’m the stupid one in town who doesn’t know about this stuff ahead of time because we ran into a ton a people that we knew. The munchkin had a blast going on various inflatables, especially the giant slide.

Tomorrow, weather permitting, is a local retail group’s fall festival complete with kiddie rides and a train. Sunday we have the MOMS group Halloween party at a local farm complete with pony rides, hay ride and petting zoo. And I think we’re going to a Halloween kid’s parade in Nonno’s neighborhood on Halloween itself. Plenty of pictures will follow.
